> KALO - Frequently Asked Questions

How does Kalo work?

First you must removes the hair by the root, by waxing, sugaring, or tweezing. This will leave micro openings in the skin. When massaged into these micro openings on the skin, Kalo penetrates these open follicle-pores and its active ingredients begin to inhibit the formation of a new hair.

One of the key building blocks for healthy hair growth is sulphur. Consequently, Kalo's active ingredients are recognized natural sulphur reducers, which prevent hair from regenerating.

back

Why does Kalo work so well?

Kalo uses one of the most unique hair inhibiting processes today; a triple-compound action of sulphur reducers reacts with recently exposed hair follicle-pores. These organic sulfur extracts weaken and inhibit the hair at the anagen, or growth stage.  Plus, unlike depilatories, the moisturizing agents and ingredients in Kalo help soothe the skin and ease the irritation cause by prior hair removal.

back

What is a sulphur reducer?

Sulphur reducers, used in Kalo, are organic compounds which prevent the formation of basic sulphur linkages.  Because sulphur is a necessary compound involved in hair growth, by preventing the formation of sulphur linkages hair growth is also inhibited.

Can men or women use Kalo anywhere on the body?

Kalo works equally as well for men as for women and can be used on any body part including the bikini and genital areas.   If Kalo is to be applied to a sensitive body part please test it on a less sensitive part of the skin first to be sure there is no irritation or skin allergy.

back

Is Kalo safe?

Yes. Kalo has been proven to be completely safe to use after waxing, sugaring, tweezing and even shaving; this has been confirmed by extensive safety studies.

However, as with every natural-based product, it is advised to test Kalo on a less sensitive patch of skin to determine whether an allergic reaction would develop.  In the case of irritation or allergic reaction, discontinue use and wash the area thoroughly with soap and water.

It is not advised to use Kalo after chemical depilatories, as they often cause skin burns.

back

How long will Kalo take to work?

As with many natural herbal/organic products, Kalo will take different lengths of time to be effective for different people. On the average, studies have found that 10% of hair will be inhibited after each combined hair removal | Kalo session.

back

Will Kalo work after shaving?

Some retarding of hair growth and weakening of the hair will be noticeable when Kalo is used regularly after shaving. In fact, in some isolated cases, prolonged use may have actually prevented the hair from growing back.

However, Kalo works best when the hair has been physically epilated through waxing, tweezing, sugaring, etc. These methods remove the hair from the follicle-pore, thus allowing Kalo's triple-compound action sulfur-reducers to penetrate exposed the recently expose follicle-pore and inhibit the hair at the growth stages.

back

Do results vary on different body parts?

Yes. When hair is thin and weak, such as facial hair on women, Kalo is most effective. If the hair is medium or coarse in strength and thickness, Kalo will take longer to work.

back

Will I see results after my first application?

It is very possible to see results just one application, however most people notice results after two or three hair removal | Kalo sessions. Complete results will likely take approximately over one year.

back

Which one is better the spray or the lotion?

Both products are equally as effective. The spray is best suited for large body parts like the back or legs, while the lotion is best for the facial and bikini areas. The lotion has more skin soothing properties and many people find it easier to apply.

back

Is Kalo FDA approved?

No. Kalo is not considered a food or a drug and therefore does not require FDA approval.

However, Kalo has met all necessary safety requirements in testing so that it can be sold worldwide.

back

Why does Kalo work in select percentages?

At any given time, 10% to 15% of our hair follicles are in the anagen or growth phase.

Since Kalo has the greatest effect on hair follicles in the anagen phase, Kalo results will be noticed and are shown in certain percentage ranges.

back

Will Kalo's effects be permanent?

This depends on a few factors:

If Kalo is used as directed after each physical hair removal session, such as waxing or tweezing, the hair eventually will not grow back.

If Kalo is used as directed after each shaving session and no hair is physically removed, the hair will grow back but more slowly and will become weaker and finer over time.

back

How long has Kalo been on the market?

Kalo was introduced in the spring of 1997.

Kalo was in testing and development phases in the 5 years preceding 1997.
